Brian Head
The photo to the left was the view from the dining room table where we stayed in Brian Head, a tiny ski resort adjacent to the Cedar Breaks at 10,000 feet of altitude. The air was thin and took much getting accustomed too! We took day trips from here to see the places on this website.
An outstanding feature of this area is the clear, dark night sky. The Milky Way just glows across the sky and many Messier objects can be seen with binoculars.
From the top of Brian Head rock it is possible to see 150 miles in the distance to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
There are only three kinds of trees in these photos - spruce, fir, and the only trees of color are aspen trees. The dead trees are explained on the Dixie National Forest page.
