Zion Canyon National Park
We accessed Zion National Park from the East using Rt.9 from Rt.89. Never again! That way is an hour long wait to the toll booth (which you cannot avoid) and there are no bathrooms once you leave that intersection Rt.89 and Rt.9 until you get to the visitor's center. By then you have seen all you can without taking park shuttles. There is not enough parking at the vistor's center or in Springdale (considered the next town) to access these shuttles. This park had thousands of visitors daily and not enough help or resources to deal with them! The only good thing about the park is the scenery!
My suggestion is to access the park from the West using Rt. 9 off Interstate 15. At least there are restaurants, gift shops and all those little businesses that usually reside outside our national parks. These photos were taken from the car along Rt.9.
